If i am asked about some upcoming giants from Poland they are one of them who for sure are gonna rip your brains off.So soon they are hitting the studio for there full-length album They may be playing there slot when you are going through this interview  . Before we begin we will like to know much about the scene there in Poland. As we all know that the scene of Poland is well renowned for its extreme scene. Talking about that we will also like to notify you guys that the Death Metal scene in Nepal is Maximum influenced by Polish Death Metal scene. So can you say about your countries scene in elaborated as well as brief way?

Yes, you’re right; Poland is renowned for its extreme scene. I think it’s due to our everyday, grey reality. You know, compared to other European countries, particularly from Western Europe, life in Poland isn’t colorful. State is often making life difficult instead of helping; most young people flee abroad as here after graduation the only career that awaits them is to be a cashier in the supermarket. People are pissed off and they transfer this frustration onto the most pissed-off music in the world - death metal ;). Plus, as you probably have heard, Poland is a country where Catholicism is firmly rooted. The more society imposes certain beliefs on young people, the more they need to revolt. In addition to the death metal scene we also have got quite interesting black metal scene. The Polish representatives of this genre that I would recommend are: Furia (Fury), Mgła (Fog), Kriegsmachine (War Machine) or Plaga (Plague). As you can see . . . Poland does not have too many representatives in heavy and thrash trend. Extreme scene reflects the best the mood of our society.

Thunderwar how did the journey begin?
The idea of founding death metal band was born in the minds of our drummer Vit and bass player/ singer Madness, when they were still kids. In 2012 the band was joined by Ustapiuk (solo guitar), and a little later myself, on rhythm guitar. For a year, under the name of Perun we were getting used to each other and determining the path we wanted to follow. We recorded, as Perun, single "Eagle of Glory". The song met with great reception in the country and abroad, which resulted in us starting hatching a bit more serious plans. We’ve come to the conclusion that we would have to change the name to something that people abroad would be able to pronounce (laughs). So with the beginning of 2013 the Thunderwar was born, with a new plan for the future, new strength to action and from that point on, seriously we’re dating the emergence of the band.

Thunderwar what exactly does it means?
We were looking for an English name, which at least a little would refer to Perun. Perun is a Slavic ancient God of Thunder. Therefore, we wanted to have the word "thunder" in the name, but it was hard to come up with such a combination of words, that have never been used somewhere else. It turned out that there was never any Thunderwar, and this name pierced our heads and we decided it should stay.

Can we know about the lineup of Thunderwar?

Sure! The founders, Vit and Madness have known each other almost since childhood, when, as teenagers (13, 15 year-olds) they played in the thrash formation Horde. Vit from an early age took drums lessons. He had the opportunity to even be taught by one of our national drums’ masters Daray, who currently plays drums in Dimmu Borgir. Madness is self-taught. He found his first bass on the scrap yard and so it started (laughs). Ustapiuk and I met probably in 2007 at the concert of Overkill. You can say that together we were taking first steps in learning to play the guitar. We are also self-taught, but Ustapiuk is much better. True talent :)

Coming from the land of legendary act BEHEMOTH , Vader , Decapitated , Azarath , Hate and many more great bands can you guys say us what inspired you four to start a Death Metal band?
The years 2012-2013 was a time when each of us had enough of "the new wave of thrash" which began doing so secondary and dull that slowly became musical regress. Of course, we ourselves grew up on thrash and we love this music very much, but we've had enough of all these new, identical, boring bands. We thought: “Fuck, it's time to show that teenagers can enjoy awesome, fresh death metal! In the end we’re from Poland, the cradle of death metal?! " (laughs). By the way, of course, we are in love with the Swedish, American and Polish classics of death metal. It turned out that we’ve got our own idea and we just continue doing it today.

Can you guys say us how did you guys journey in Metal started?

I started out ‘cause of my friends from the primary school and the cassette "Master of Puppets" and "Painkiller" obvious bands:) Vit and Ustapiuk began to listen to heavier sounds because of their parents, who themselves liked bands such as Kiss and Iron Maiden. Madness I guess was inspired by an older brother, but I have no certainty:) And once we've grown to be able to start going to concerts, drink beer and partying, it all started getting serious! Of course, at the same time a fascination with instruments started and you know . . . :)

Apart from Thunderwar which other bands are you guys involved?

Only Vit is in one other band - Bestiality. They are our mates from the rehearsal room and play simple, boorish black/thrash metal like Nifelheim or Disaster, etc. They still haven’t got any material issued but something is already gearing up. On YT you can listen to their first recordings. I recommend:)

Recently you guys had a gig on Warsaw in 29th march how was the gig?

Correct. We played in our hometown, so there were quite a few friends and a very cool atmosphere. We shared the stage with two fellow bands from Warsaw: Morthus and Armagh and a star of the Polish black/thrash underground Bloodthirst. We presented one new song that will appear on the full album and it has been received with great enthusiasm, and that’s why we remember this gig very well:)

If I am not wrong then in mid June you guys are sharing stage with the legendary American Death Metal Band OBITUARY. Can you say us in detail about the gig . I am pretty much sure you guys are pretty excited about the gig sharing a stage with one of the most influential Death Metal Band..

Yeah! We are extremely excited about this event! Obituary is one of our idols, so it's cool to be able to share the stage with them. From what I know, it’s supposed to be a one-day mini-Festival. There will be a lot of Polish bands from the underground, including 3 reactivated especially for this concert: Betrayer, Wishmasteran and Dishead. I hope to manage to have a chat with the guys from Obituary, but we'll see on the spot:) By the way-back in April we will be supporting Amon Amarth, so you need to know that we’re not idle! (laughs)

So in 2013 November you guys launched your Ep “The Birth of Thunder” it was probably on 8th if I am correct. Around 18.50 minutes of brain crushing Death metal chaos. Personally speaking out of the 4 tracks SHADOWS OF LINDISFARNE and  EAGLES OF GLORY are on top of my list.

Yes, it officially came out at the beginning of November. Thanks for these words, great to hear it! :) I personally most prefer "Vimana (The Chariots in Heaven)", but my opinion might not be objective:) (laughs) “Shadows” and “Eagle” is perhaps the most "classic" songs in our repertoire, I'm glad that you enjoyed them;)

Coming outside THUNDERWAR what are the albums that you guys personally prefer. (Any genres please entire members answer it)?

Vit doesn’t see the world besides metal, mainly death scene, black/thrash. Too much of this, to name it in turn (laughs). Personally, I think if he ever listens to something outside the genre then probably the hell freezes over :D Favourite band of Madness, as he claims, is a Lynyrd Skynyrd :) Also Unleashed, Manowar, Behemoth. In turn me and Ustapiuk we’re recently absorbing a lot of new bits from the world of metal - Bombus, Ghost BC, In Solitude. We’re inspired quite a lot with Watain, Behemoth, Satyricon. And with more atmospheric music with the devil in the background - Blue Oyster Cult or The Devils Blood.

Your EP was released from HERTZ STUDIO and was mixed and mastered by non other then Wieslawscy Bros how was your experience working with one of the well renowned Sound engineer in the Death Metal scene who have worked with polish giants VADER , Behemoth as well as DECAPITATED?

Wiesławscy brothers are the best professionals that so far we have been able to work with. Their experience and work style makes you feel as if they read your mind. They always give the right advice, everything argue perfectly, and their ideas are simply very good:) We had no doubt that we want them to record our full album. Even if for half a year we'd have to eat only bread and drink water to collect money for recordings:)

So while I was going through one of the article about you guys and have mentioned about entering Studio for a full length album probably by the mid of 2014. Can you say us about the album. We will love to know about it?

Yes, that’s decided, we will enter the Studio in August of this year (2014). Now we’re finishing writing material, and in May we begin to record pre-production of the album. Later we will be discussing with the brothers our vision, based on the recorded pre-production material, choosing instruments and establishing ground rules of collaboration. The album has to sound naturally, has to be recorded without the use of triggers, with a "live" drums. Material is to be consistent and natural. All of the songs which we were not 100% certain of were thrown out of the window. All of this is to avoid “chokers” on the album. Slowly our excitement associated with this production grows, but for now however there is still a lot of work ahead.

So 16 months of journey until now. How far has been the journey? Well its good to see that the upcoming bands are getting opportunities and to add flavor you guys upcoming gig with such legends honestly I am speechless..

Thanks!!! These 16 months have passed very quickly. But that’s how it just is when you’re constantly busy :) So far we’re very pleased with the direction in which the band follows and we will certainly want to continue! We’re not letting go and all the time we have the appetite for more, and this is just the beginning:)

So apart from thunderwar what do you guys do?

Vit and Madness are still in high school,  I and Ustapiuk are studying. Most of us also work part time to earn money for the recordings and for rehearsal room hire. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, in our country the State doesn't help musicians with their own idea, as for example in Sweden. I hope that in the near future we will manage to escape from this humdrum reality in a long tour :)

Any message to the fans ?

Sure! Spread death metal plague wherever you can! Let the people hear there are still young bands that want to follow the path designated by our shared idols from the 80s and 90s! Someone's going to have to play for our children, when all the "dinosaurs of rock" will be gone to Valhalla, is not it? :) Meanwhile, I like to say goodbye and I need to shoot to a concert Watain! They’re playing today in Warsaw :) See you in the future!

Lastly a space for you to ask if we SNRMB team has forgotten to ask you can ask us here?

Recommended bands from Nepal:)
